Notice:
The AYC Special Events committee is looking for volunteers interested
in becoming scorers for the Frostbite Series. Some computer abilities
required. Non Frostbite participants preferred. Please contact
Reg Genola if interested.
Organizing
Authority:
Special Events Race Committee, Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC).
Rules:
The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 2001-2004 (RRS) except as any
of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions.
Eligibility
and Entry:
Entry is limited to AYC, EYC, NASS, and SSA members. Applicants
for membership approved by the Membership Committee at AYC may be
approved to enter. The person entering a boat must be a regular
active participant on the boat for the series and is responsible
for the actions of the boat and the crew while racing.
Registration:
Entry Forms are available on-line
and at the AYC front office. Entrants shall provide AYC with completely
filled out and properly executed entry forms and crew list prior
to 1200 hours on November 2, 2002. Early registration is recommended.
Safety considerations may limit the maximum number of boats accepted
for racing.
Crew
Registration:
Entrants shall submit a crew list with the boat entry on the form
available on the web page or from the AYC front desk. Guest
cards will be issued for all non-AYC crewmembers. Use of the cards
is specified on the form.
Entry
Fees: $100.00
Late Entries (after 1200 hrs November 2, 2002): $125.00
Schedule:
Eight weeks of racing are anticipated for both first and second
half of the series.
Close
of Registration: November 2, 2002 @ 1200 hours
Skipper's Meeting: November 3, 2002 @ 1200 hours (at AYC)
First Half Racing Begins: Following Skipper's Mtg.
First Half Racing: November 3rd through December 22nd.
Hangover Bowl: January 1st following skippers meeting at 1200 hours
Second Half Racing: February 2nd through March 23rd
Measurement:
Boats must comply with the Class Rules. A rating Certificate for
handicap classes shall be on file with AYC Special Events Committee
by November 2nd, 2002.
Sailing
Instructions:
The Sailing Instructions and Course Sheets will be available at
the AYC front desk by October 27th. Final class breaks and starting
sequences will be announced at the Skippers Meeting.
Scoring:
The Low Point Scoring System, ISAF Appendix A will apply. Paragraph
A9 will be modified by the sailing instructions.
Classes:
The type and number of boats entered will determine the starting
sequence and class flags. CBYRA COD Classes with 5 or more entries
may be scored as a class. Other One Design Classes must request
the Race Committee approval to be scored as a class. The Herreshoff
12½ class will be provided different sailing instructions
and courses.
