1. Starting Sequence - PHRF A combined with PHRF B, Etchells start
combined with J105. Most starts 5 minutes earlier.
2. Additional courses - see below for revised courses (Note "AB",
"AC", and "E" for Triton Light Start).
Starting
Procedure
There shall be an initial Warning signal indicated by a Yellow shape
and sound followed by an initial Preparatory signal indicated by
a Blue shape and sound. The first and all subsequent starts will
be indicated by a Red shape and sound. The Preparatory signal for
each class shall be the Warning signal for the next and the Starting
signal for each class shall be the Preparatory signal for the next.
Signals will be made at five-minute intervals. Times shall be taken
from the visual signals. The failure of a sound signal shall
be disregarded.
Each shape will be lowered one minute before the next is displayed.
The Committee will display Class flags at approximately 4 minutes
before the class Starting signal, until approximately 1 minute after
the class Starting signal. This is not a timed signal.
Government
Marks
Can "1SC", Fl R "4", Fl Y "A" and
Fl "HP" are marks of the course and are to be passed on
the channel side. Marks "A", "B", "C",
"D" refer to yellow cans in vicinity of the Naval Academy
(Yellow Can "A" is NOT Dolphin Fl Y "A").
Special
Drop Marks
S is a drop mark approximately 200 yards South of the Naval Academy
Bridge.
S1 is a drop mark bearing approximately 250 deg. from the spider.
